Based in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal, our services cover the wider Midlands region and are delivered with empathy, professionalism, and a deep commitment to each individual’s dignity and well-being.

Skilled Care That Respects Individual Needs

Every patient at Midlands Hospice receives a unique care plan tailored to their needs, preferences, and circumstances. Our registered nurses hold nationally recognised certificates in palliative nursing, an essential and scarce skill in the South African healthcare sector. We ensure ongoing development through regular in-service training so our team stays updated with best practices in home-based palliative care.

Admission Criteria

Patients must have a confirmed diagnosis from a medical doctor indicating a life-limiting condition with a reduced life expectancy. Common qualifying conditions include:

• Advanced HIV/AIDS

• Active TB (initial phase of treatment)

• Cancer or malignant neoplasms (MN)

• Any end-stage medical diagnosis
